Just a Few Words

Budapest is full of hidden gems and we’re not afraid to think of ourselves as one of those little sparkles. Meander Hostel is a home to all the wandering souls out there in a traditional 19th century Hungarian building located in Budapest’s central 6th district. We believe a great hostel and the friends you make there can elevate your experience of a city so we haven’t made ourselves like your typical sterile hotel-esque hostel.

We’re about making a tribe of new friends to explore the city with during the day and head out with together at night. Openness and inclusivity is what we’re about and anyone and everyone who wants to be part of our tribe will be welcomed with open arms. Our brilliant staff are always here to help you have a great time, whether it’s info on how best to see the city during the day, insider tips on where to get great food, or how best to experience the nightlife Budapest is famous for. When you check in, we’ll give you a free map of the city and point out all the best spots, from the major tourist sights to the staff favourites like thrift stores and amazing coffee shops.

Downstairs we have an awesome little hipster bar that serves breakfast in the morning and Mexican food at night, with live music most nights too. We have a fully equipped kitchen and all the basics like free Wi-fi, free tea and coffee, free linen and towels, free lockers, and adaptors and padlocks for hire. Meander is our home and when you’re a guest in our home we’ll do everything we can to make sure you have the best time. We’re a genuine backpacker’s hostel and if you love socialising and making new friends then you’re going to love your new home in this vibrant city.
